How to Empty a Vacuum Bag

It is important to change your vacuum cleaner bag when it is full. Once a vacuum cleaner bag is full, it can cause the cleaner to blow dust out when vacuuming instead of picking up dirt and debris. It is also wise to empty the vacuum cleaner bag frequently if fleas are a problem in your home because fleas can crawl out of a vacuum cleaner bag. Keep reading to learn hot to empty a vacuum bag properly.

  1. First: Buy new vacuum cleaner bags

Each model of vacuum cleaner has specific bag types that fit. If the vacuum cleaner bag is not compatible with your machine, it does not work properly and can result in a big mess. Check the instructions that came with your vacuum cleaner to learn the type of bag you need. The bag type is often written on the front of the vacuum or inside the vacuum where the bag is located. Most vacuum cleaner bags are imprinted with the bag type.

  2. Second: Remove vacuum cleaner bag

Depending on the type of vacuum you have, you need to either unzip the vacuum bag holder or lift plastic away from the front of the vacuum. Once you have done that, you have access to the bag. Carefully pull the top of the bag from the short hose to which it is attached. It is a tight fit, so take it slowly so you do not spill the bag. Once the bag is removed from the vacuum cleaner, place it in a plastic or paper bag, and dispose of it as soon as possible.

  3. Third: Insert new vacuum cleaner bag

Unwrap the new vacuum cleaner bag. Find the cardboard square with a perforated circle in the middle, then stick your finger in through the perforations to open that part of the bag. Carefully place the bag onto the short hose making sure it is a snug fit. Close the vacuum bag holder either by zipping it or replacing the plastic front.
